New App Warns Drivers of Speed Traps

In some parts of the country, when drivers see a flash of high beams, it is a warning to fellow drivers that a speed trap is ahead.

Operation Work Brake Nabbed 1,400 Speeders

“Speed Week” Ticket Blitz Begins Today (8/13/12)

Believe it or not, the New York State Police are preparing for yet another major ticket blitz.

Crash Investigation Reform Act Expected to Make NY Safer

New York Speeding Fines — Crash Reform Act Expected to Pass

The New York City Council and Transportation Alternatives are aiming to decrease the number of people killed and seriously injured in traffic accidents.

Together, they are pushing a new bill that calls for a task force to overhaul the New York Police Department’s traffic enforcement and crash investigation procedures.

Recently, Councilman Brad Lander and Councilman James Vacca presented “The Crash Investigation Reform Act” at a press conference.

The legislation will assess the NYPD’s traffic safety enforcement and accident investigation protocols, which many believe are not keeping the streets safe enough.

After the assessment, the Act is expected help implement the most effective ways to lower the number of fatalities and injuries in the streets and bring justice to those injured or killed.

Councilman Stephen Levin revealed that there are 19 police officers on the NYPD’s Accident Investigation Squad citywide who are called to accidents, but only if “a person dies or is likely to die.”

Additionally, Transportation Alternatives reported that 21 cyclists died in vehicle crashes in New York City in 2011, but only two drivers were arrested.

“Crashes that result in serious injuries demand serious investigations,” noted Council Member Brad Lander.

He also explained, “But right now, they just aren’t getting them from the NYPD. As we learned at the City Council’s February hearing, thousands of crashes with serious injuries to pedestrians and cyclists happen with no real investigations, and no charges. The Crash Investigation Reform Act would set up a comprehensive review of NYPD policies regarding traffic crash investigations, and get us on the road to safer streets.”

The City Council revealed that 60% of fatal pedestrian and bicyclist crashes with known causes are due to illegal driving behavior like speeding and talking on a cell phone.

However, due to the low numbers of speeding tickets issued, the City Council believes the NYPD is not doing its job to enforce the speed limit and is not holding dangerous drivers responsible for breaking the law.

Ultimately, legislators hope that the Crash Investigation Reform Act will make New York safer.

According to the Daily News, Tom Cruise led the paparazzi on a high-speed chase through Manhattan in order to avoid unwanted questions and to protect his 6-year-old daughter.

Tom Cruise, who recently divorced Katie Holmes, has been receiving a tremendous amount of news coverage during what can only be described as a very trying time of his life.

After a father-daughter sleepover at Robert de Niro’s luxury Greenwich Hotel in TriBeCa, Cruise attempted to avoid photographers who were waiting outside to catch a glimpse of him and his daughter.

They left the hotel in Manhattan’s Lower West Side in a black Chevy Suburban and headed toward a heliport at 12th Avenue and West 29th Street, blowing through red lights along the way.

At least 10 cars and six motorcyclists and bicyclists followed Cruise as his SUV reached 20 miles per hours beyond the posted speed limit.

One of the vans was even pulled over by police for speeding.

This car chase came just two days after Suri, Cruise’s daughter, got into a fender bender with her mother, actress Katie Holmes.

According to E! News, they were traveling on the West Side of Manhattan when their chauffeured car was struck by a garbage truck.

Holmes and her daughter were uninjured and only minor damage was done to Holmes’ Mercedes.

(Allegedly lol) Got a speeding ticket in NYC. Wasn't sure about fighting it on my own and apparently NYC doesn't do the whole "it's you first offense, lets make this a jaywalking ticket" thing so I bit the bullet and got a lawyer. If I could give this law firm 10 stars, I would. I was driving through upstate New York and I was looking up directions on my phone. I know, not the smartest idea. A state trooper was riding along and quickly pulled up bedside me. I was doing the speed limit but he pulled me over. I had a passenger in the back seat and she had her seatbelt on, but the strap was underneath her arm. Needless to say, the state trooper gave me two tickets, 1 for being on the phone, and 1 for improperly restrained passenger. Those two tickets were going to be $800 and 8 points on my license. Everyone makes mistakes and I should have been more careful. I called up Rosenblum law and this law firm corrected my situation. I didn’t have to appear in court, and the law firm was able to reduce BOTH tickets to 0 points and reduce the tickets a non moving violation. I will be a smarter driver in the future, but I wanted to say thank you to Rosenblum law for such a courteous and superb experience. If you ever need help, this is the law firm to contact. Unfortunately on my way home driving through NYC I was pulled over and given a ticket for speeding. This service given through this law firm was awesome and to the point. I have admittedly racked up a couple of speeding tickets, albeit around 10 miles over for each ticket. Once I provided all of the proper paperwork and information, Rosenblum went to work. I almost felt like I was supposed to do more on my end because of the fact that I wasn't hearing any news on the case. This was only because Rosenblum were doing their job in a timely and efficient fashion rather than sloppy work. I had prepared myself to be paying a fine upward of $300 or more due to the number of speeding violations I have had and was also afraid that i would lose my license. This law firm reduced my violation to 0 points on my record and only a $125 fine. I'm very happy with the outcome and thankful for the help. Very much worth the money in the long run if you put yourself in a situation like I had.

I have to highly recommend this law firm. They helped me reverse a verdict from a speeding infraction to what is equivalent to a parking ticket. The money I paid them was worth it. I now do not have any points on my license and my insurance will not go up. Being from out of state I felt I did not have any options and they proved to me not only did I have options but I had people on my side. Thank you so much for everything you did in helping me. Efficient, Considerate, Communicative & Results!Rather than explain my situation, I can tell you I was faced with 7 points and a bit distraught over an accident I was involved in. I reached out to a few lawyers in the area that told me my issue was "serious," and I needed someone to defend me. While I can appreciate aggressive/assertive lawyers, if you're not available to speak with someone quickly when trying to acquire business, not sure I felt comfortable enough to hire a firm that was not responsive no matter how assertive during follow-up calls. That all changed when I contacted Rosenblum Law Firm and spoke to Lois Varughese, Esq.!Efficient! I had a lawyer answer my call, not someone taking a message to call me back at a later date. It was clear the firm probably recognizes clients are in tough situations when calling and provide the necessary "comfort" when I spoke to them the very first time. They were not condescending or arrogant, but knew the law and that's why I hired them on the spot thanks to Lois!Considerate! They appreciate my time is valuable as well and were considerate when responding via emails, calling on the phone even if they were not assigned to the case initially. As noted above, when a client is in a bind, it's nice that your advocate is sensitive to concerns about the situation despite the lawyer not being emotionally involved.Communicative! Did not matter if I contacted them via the general email or directly to the lawyer, on many occasions they were responsive almost immediately even on weekends and always reassured that I was not a bother.Results! Well all is good if your nice, communicate and considerate; however, at the end of the day it's all about the results when the implications can be so detrimental. While I provided a lot of details to the incident and even research, the result was zero points, no fine and dismissed without prejudice.Thanks for everything, I recommend them 100% and glad I went with my gut.

I had speeding ticket when I drived 50mps in 30 mps limited. I had 6 point and I had to pay ticket + $300. I had to find lawyer to fight this because I had to go back Korea when I had to go to court. After 4 month they changed speeding ticket to non speeding and reduced from 6 point to 2 point. Great victory

Can't expect better from a lawyer. 3 months ago, I got a speeding ticket doing 80 on a 65 in Albany NY with 4 points added to my clean record (I'm a MA resident+ drivers license with a rental car immatriculated in Mass also). Very embarrassed by that I randomly discovered his law firm just by binging out NY (Buffalo area) traffic lawyers to help me out. I sent him an email the same day, the next day replied and we talked about the case, sent him the ticket (both pages scanned)+fees. 3 months later which means yesterday I got an email from his law firm telling me that my speeding ticket was reduce to a 0 point parking ticket with $175 fine which is nothing compared to the initial fine. AMAZING ATTORNEY!Around 2 years ago I got caught driving and talking on a cell phone in Brooklyn, NY. This offense carried a 5-point penalty and a hefty fine. I received a ticket doing 85mph in a 65mph zone on the route 390 in the town of Wayland, NY. heading towards Rochester in April 2015. This was a 6 point infraction. I did a google search for "speeding ticket NYS " and the Rosenblum firm was no 1 on the list. I read all the reviews like you are doing now. I called Adam and he took down all my information and told me what to expect. He said after I pay the $500, he would take care of everything. He attended my court date and got all 6 points eliminated along with no fine. I had total peace of mind through this process. I received two tickets in Chautauqua County New York. One was for unlawful passing and the other for speeding (11-20 MPH over the limit). I was devastated at the time because I had never gotten a ticket and if convicted of these the fines would easily surpass $1,000 and I would get 7 points on my license. The process was very straightforward. I had a five minute phone consultation with one of the Rosenblum Reps and paid a one time fee of $500. They assured me that if they couldn't negotiate my tickets down to lesser charges I wouldn't be charged anything. They took care of the whole process from there. I literally didn't have to worry about a thing. Today I received an email stating that they were able to get my tickets reduced down to parking tickets which resulted in 0 points on my license and a $250 fine! I would highly recommend Rosenblum Law Firm. The outcome was better than I ever could have expected, and they were very easy and professional to work with.

Rosenblum Law did an incredible job resolving my case in the state of NY. I was visiting from out of town and was operating a motor vehicle while talking on the phone. When I was pulled over I was very surprised as this is not a law in my home state. When determining the repercussions and points on my license I was very overwhelmed. Rosenblum Law represented me in NYC Traffic court in Queens south for driving across hazard markings (3 points). If anyone doesn’t know, traffic court in New York City is run by motor vehicles in which no plea bargaining is allowed. It took 23 months to go to trial in which Rosenblum was able to get a dismissal of the ticket (no points or fine). I strongly recommend Rosenblum Law for any traffic tickets in New York City

I panicked when I got an out of state ticket while driving across the country to start a new job. I am from MA and got an NY ticket, which would have meant 4 points on my license and a surge in insurance premium. Luckily, I contacted Rosenblum (based on internet reviews) and they were able to reduce it to a 0 point violation. I still have to pay a fine, but it's a small price to pay compared to the insurance increase and points on license. These folks are magicians! Visiting from NH, I had just passed a line of slower moving vehicles on the thruway when a state trooper pulled me over; he said I’d been doing 85 in a 65 mph zone. While looking into how out-of-state tickets get handled, I happened upon traffictickets.com and gave them a call. The attorney I spoke with was very pleasant and explained my options. I recommend this law firm filled with excellent and intelligent lawyers with a big heart for their clients. I got a speeding ticket for going over the speed limit and I was worried about my points on my license being affected, which would increase my Car insurance that i'm already paying too much for. I live in Toronto and have Ontario license. I got a speeding ticket in New York State in County of Livingston while coming back from Washington DC. The officer told to me to report to North Dansville Town Court. It was very difficult for me to travel all the way from Toronto to appear in the court in Dansville. I was a passenger driving upstate with a friend of mine and despite riding with traffic, we were stopped and ticketed by a State Trooper for speeding. We were pretty far from home and the ticket required an appearance. Also, the driver was subject to 4 points. As an attorney, I know it is always best to have an attorney who understands the local court system fight a ticket than to just accept it, so I volunteered to find a firm in the area to represent my friend. NYC has a speed limit change as you enter city limits to 50 mph. I was traveling south from upstate NY where the speed limit is 65. I entered a speed trap on 95 south at Conner Ave in the Bronx. I saw the cop and took my foot off the gas but it was too late. I got a 6 point ticket. Yes I was going too fast. Rosenblum Law Firm once paid, took control of the situation and postponed the ticket 3x and today I found out it was dismissed. This might have been a fine larger than the attorney fee, plus possibly losing my license and paying big increase to insurance company. I highly suggest that if you get into one of these similar circumstances, contact them.

Awesome service from start to finish!!! Was very nervous going into today's case for three tickets which included a speeding of 31mph over. I was facing points and hefty fines...Met my attorney and right away he already informed me that the points were dropped and two of the three tickets were dropped as well...All in all, i was found guilty for a speeding of 10mph over, points were dropped and all i had to pay was $162 fine...Hope to never have to use you guys again, but definitely will if i ever need to :)

The Rosenblum Law Firm is an expert with handling speeding tickets. I was on my way back to Canada and received a ticket for driving 65mph in a 45mph zone.
